2013 : 5th European River Restoration Conference 2013, First call for
submissions
The RESTORE partners
for river restoration in Europe are inviting submissions for the European
River Restoration Conference in 2013. Join us as we share and learn
about the successes, challenges and opportunities for river restoration
in Europe.
The conference,
organised by ECRR and RESTORE together with their European partners,
will feature the 1st European River Prize for excellence in river management,
awarded by the International River Foundation.
You can provide
your river restoration case study summaries and session proposals until
15th April 2013 on the conference website

There will be some
snacks from 12:30 with talks between 13:00 and 14:00.Rivers provide
many services and restoration can significantly increase those provided
by a healthy ecosystem. These services, which should be recognised by
decision makers, include flood management, groundwater recharge, pollution
control, recreational opportunities and regeneration due to the increasing
demand for more natural surroundings. This lunchtime talk, sponsored
by EU Life+ RESTORE partnership, will examine how Europe is working
to reconnect our river channels with their natural floodplains, and
look at the role that urban regeneration and development is playing
in helping to deliver river restoration projects.It follows a workshop
